POND ISLAND–Minister of Public Housing VROMI Christophe Emmanuel said Wednesday he expects members of the St. Maarten Housing Development Foundation (SMHDF) board to resign as early as next week.
This announcement comes after the minister’s repeated call for the board to go home. The call for resignation was prompted by a number of complaints about the functioning of the board and the foundation in general, which the minister received since taking office last year.
There will be “some shuffling” of existing board members, he said, noting that he is not completely comfortable with situation as yet.
