The conference started on Monday, June 18, with a pre-conference that lasted for two days. During the pre-conference, participants discussed vector control projects and plans. At the same time, the capacity improvement of the various laboratories was expected to be dealt with. The conference will end on Friday, June 22.
The IHR Network Conference is a platform whereby all public healthcare organisations of the former Netherlands Antilles and the Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment RIVM come together to ensure that the Kingdom meets the IHR requirements. These rules are drawn up by the World Health Organisation (WHO) whereby the Kingdom has committed itself in a treaty.
