Inferno troupe debuts Carnival 50 costumes | THE DAILY HERALD

PHILIPSBURG–Inferno Carnival troupe launched its costumes for Carnival 50 at Soggy Dollar Bar this past weekend and the crowd appreciated every second of the showcase. Troupe leader Troy Washington and his team wanted to feature something special for this year’s Carnival festivities.

The four-section troupe showcased the mid-back and frontline sections during the stage show. Host Dutty Sham said Inferno will be bringing heat, fire, flames and blazing passion to Carnival’s Grand Parade 2019. The sections that make up the troupe are: Forest Fire, Raging Volcano, Aquatica and Magma. All sections are midline and frontline.

The Aquatica section will have a men’s costume and offers a skimpy swimsuit option for daring ladies.

The idea behind Forest Fire has to do with a volcano that erupted and left the effects of burnt trees behind. Dark greens with hints of pink are depicted in these costume pieces.

Raging Volcano depicts an active volcano in its prime displaying rich oranges and reds in both midline and frontline sections. Aquatica has vibrant green, displayed with nature at its best of green fauna.

The last section, called Magma, has to do with the after-effects of the volcano. Its elegant black and gold is in tune with the 50th anniversary of Carnival being celebrated in St. Maarten.

Team Inferno mas camp on A.Th. Illidge Road across from the pharmacy is now open. Contact them via WhatsApp at +1-721-553-3553.
