PHILIPSBURG–Representatives of St. Maarten Insurance Brokers Association (SIBA) will discuss the “enormous damage and hardship” caused by Hurricane Irma with Members of Parliament (MPs) during a meeting of the Central Committee of Parliament today, Tuesday, at 2:00pm.
The agenda points for the meeting are: feedback on the state of affairs of “the enormous damage and hardship caused by Hurricane Irma” from SIBA. This agenda point was requested by United People’s (UP) party MPs Theo Heyliger, Tamara Leonard, Sidhart “Cookie” Bijlani, Franklin Meyers and Claret Connor.
Also on the agenda is a discussion on the three motions accepted by Parliament on November 2; approval of the composition of the delegation and provisions for MPs to attend the General Assembly of Parlatino in Panama from November 23 to 24, and approval of the composition delegation and provisions for MPs to attend the Statia Day celebration on November 16.
Members of the public can follow the deliberations in person at the House of Parliament located across from the Court House in Philipsburg.
