MARIGOT–Three music trailers and thousands of Carnival morning jumpers made the annual Jouvert Morning a success for the French-side Carnival committee FCDSM on Monday.
The jump-up started at 5:15am and from the beginning at the Galisbay Roundabout revellers waited patiently from 4:00am for the event to begin.
FCDSM members and assisting organisations made sure the Jouvert was event-free. but committee President Lucian Raspail thanked all participants for being on their best behaviour and invited them to continue supporting the remaining free events.
Local band Nuff Respect, Nu Vybe and Kalaboom Water splash truck entertained the crowd along the route.
The committee launched a shortened five-day 2018 Carnival on Saturday night last week with a pre-parade on the waterfront followed by the Children’s Parade on Sunday. The theme for this year’s Carnival is “We Culture, We Fête.
