PHILIPSBURG–A conference was held at Divi Little Bay Resort on Monday and Tuesday in connection with the realisation of the Justice Plans of Approach for 2016.
Minister of Justice Edson Kirindongo opened the conference at 9:00am and welcomed delegations from the Netherlands, Curaçao and St. Maarten.
The conference ended positively with the conclusion that both the House of Detention and the Sint Maarten Police Force will soon make drafts of their “Plans of Approach” that will be presented to the Minister of Justice and the Minister of General Affair who are responsible for the plans. After these documents have been discussed with the Council of Ministers, they will be discussed in the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament on how to further process the pans.
Present at this conference were Representatives of the Netherlands in Philipsburg, members of the Progress Committee for the Plans of Approach for Sint Maarten, members of the Council for Law Enforcement, representatives of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, representatives of the Ministry for Safety and Justice in the Netherlands, representatives of the Ministries of General Affairs, Finance and Justice in Sint Maarten, and representatives of the Police Force of Sint Maarten, the House of Detention, the Royal Dutch Marechaussees and the Kingdom Detective Cooperation Team RST.
