CAY HILL–Kooyman Megastore will be hosting a special Father’s Day workshop this Saturday, June 15, where dads will be able to participate in a “daddy and kid” Do-It-Yourself workshop in honour of Father’s Day.
Kooyman said it aims to create a special moment between father and son/daughter through the joy of woodworking.
The workshop will be held between 10:00am and 2:00pm and will consist of three one-hour sessions where participants will have a chance to build a wooden toolbox. The workshop is completely free. All participants have to do is take their enthusiasm and the rest will be handled by Kooyman’s guide.
New to the Kooyman workshop team is National Institute for Professional Advancement (NIPA) associate and instructor Fleville Tinto. Tinto is a master craftsman in construction technology and is “excited” to have some fun and share his expertise with lucky Kooyman dads and kids this weekend.
“Kooyman is happy to have Mr. Fleville Tinto on board. The work he has done and the time he has put into moulding young minds in the construction field is remarkable,” said Kooyman Store Manager Nico Boersma. “We are honoured to work with NIPA and look forward to yet another successful workshop.”
Kooyman hosts nine do-it-yourself workshops throughout the year, but only one of them is a men’s workshop.
“Kooyman receives several requests by our male customers for a men’s-only workshop. Oftentimes, fathers and their kids may bond over fixing repairs around the house, where oftentimes kids are in charge of supplying the tools, so we figured that the wooden toolbox made together will create many more cherished memories,” said Kooyman Commercial Officer Evencia Carty-Seabrookes.
