“This is the way we party, without any incidents taking place,” these participants in early Saturday’s J’ouvert Morning Parade in St. Eustatius said.
ST. EUSTATIUS–A large crowd turned out to J’ouvert Morning in St. Eustatius, Saturday morning at 4:00. Jamm Boyz band played and had the revellers dancing through the streets.
A mixture of persons turned out to J’ouvert Morning. Young and old danced the night away into the sunrise hours.
Even after three hours of dancing, the energy level of the crowd could still be felt throughout.
No incidents took place during J’ouvert, Caribbean Netherlands Police Force KPCN reported. After the parade, many persons enjoyed breakfast at Carnival Village.
J’ouvert Morning started soon after Friday’s Big Bacchanal, which featured Triple Kay International band and Nu Vibes Band, along with local Turbulanzz and Rebels Band and disc jockeys before a large crowd.
The 54th annual Statia Carnival will close out today, Monday. The Last Lap Jump-Up is slated to start at 7:00pm, with the burning of King Momo to take place at midnight. Monday is a national holiday on the island.
