PHILIPSBURG–Three young culinary entrepreneurs have teamed up to boost the holiday spirit with a “Triple Treat Tasting” at Lazy Lizard restaurant on Boardwalk Boulevard this Friday starting at 5:00pm.
This culinary treat was crafted by Lazy Lizard owner Nikhil “Nik” Kukrueja as a way to bring together young business people like himself who are forging their own way in the hospitality sector. Lazy Lizard will provide a sampling of locally-flavoured rums to complement the savoury ham prepared by Tastebuds of Paradise and an assortment of desserts by Lisa Yu-Turner’s Cake Parlor.
Lazy Lizard reopens this week after forced closure by Hurricane Irma. Despite being closed to diners, Kukrueja and staff poured their efforts in not only cleaning up and repairing the restaurant, they also focussed energies on providing meals to, among others, teachers of Martin Luther King Jr. Primary School, workers of utilities company GEBE, members of the Voluntary Corps of St. Maarten VKS of which Kukrueja is a long-time member.
His focus now is to work with other businesses for the holiday season and beyond to boost the economy and spirits with culinary and networking events.
