PHILIPSBURG–Several districts were gripped by a lengthy power outage on Wednesday, in some areas more than five hours.
GEBE said late Wednesday that a fault had been located on a cable that feeds Dutch Quarter, Belvedere and parts of Oyster Pond and surrounding areas, resulting in the outage.
“Due to the weather [heavy wind, rain and thunderstorms – Ed.], it is taking our team longer than expected to locate the exact fault on the cable,” GEBE media relations officer Paula Gordon said.
The company apologised for the longer-than-normal outage in affected areas.
