Lenovo, Antek donate 20 Chromebooks to MPC

MPC students hold up the Chromebooks along with donors and MPC officials.

PHILIPSBURG–Lenovo and Antek IT Solutions and Software last week donated twenty additional Lenovo ThinkPad Chromebooks to Milton Peters College (MPC).

Lenovo and Antek had already donated 32 Lenovo ThinkPad Chromebooks in January to MPC and St Maarten Academy, which were personally handed over by Lenovo Director of Channel Sales Michael Abplanalp.

The 32 systems that were donated matched 32 Lenovo Chromebooks purchased and donated by Foresee Foundation for the DigiTeenz project. Abplanalp was so impressed with the project that was set up by MPC to use the Chromebooks for students, that during his visit he committed Lenovo to donate another 20 units.

MPC Coordinator VSBO-PKL/PBL Sergio Blomont and Renaldo Baker, who is in charge of integration of technology in the classrooms, accepted the Lenovo systems on behalf of MPC and they were “very appreciative” of the donations, as they will allow MPC to finalise “this important IT project for the students,” it was stated in a press release issued on Monday.

Students and teachers in attendance were also “very appreciative and enthusiastic” at the potential for learning and teaching these systems will provide.

Former MPC student Luca Zambrini presented the systems on behalf of Antek IT Solutions and Lenovo.
