Library introduces new app for e-book readers

PHILIPSBURG–Not everyone knows that since 2013 members of Philipsburg Jubilee Library can borrow almost 900 e-books and audiobooks via the Library’s website free of charge. The e-book titles are provided by US-based Company Overdrive. The e-book service is quite popular among a small, but dedicated group of Library members. For those Library users who find it difficult to download e-books via the Library website, Overdrive recently launched “Libby,” a user-friendly app which makes it possible to download e-books in less than a minute by following a few easy steps.

Apple users can download Libby via their App Store. Those with Android devices will find Libby on Google Play.

According to the Library, Libby has a ground-breaking e-book reader, and an audio-book player. For more information and instruction videos about Libby, visit https://meet.libbyapp.com/

The Library recently added some new titles to its e-book collection, among which are bestsellers, such as Camino Island by John Grisham, and The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. Recent books by popular authors Danielle Steel and Nora Roberts are among the new titles as well.

For more information about the Library’s e-book service and Libby one may contact the Library via tel. 542-2970 or send an e-mail to admin@sxmlibrary.org.
