Loaned police vehicle damaged

One of the loaned police vehicles from the Netherlands was involved in a traffic accident at approximately 4:50pm Thursday. According to police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson, the police vehicle was traveling down the hill on A.J.C. Brouwer Road with sirens blaring and collided with a red quad traveling up the hill behind a grey van. The driver of the van pulled to the extreme right to allow the police vehicle to pass and the driver of the quad, who said he had not heard the sirens, started to pass the van and collided with the police vehicle. The driver of the quad was injured because he was not wearing a helmet. The Police Traffic Department was called to investigate the accident and the investigation is ongoing. The police car had a suspect in it at the time.
