PHILIPSBURG–The Main Voting Bureau sits this morning in A.C. Wathey Legislative Hall to decide on the validity of the slates of candidates submitted by the nine political parties on August 8, Nomination Day.
The lists and submissions of all nine parties had errors and omission ranging from incompleteness and spelling errors to not having the required number of endorsement signatures.
A total of 22,302 persons 18 years of age and older have the right to vote in the September 26 Parliamentary Elections by virtue of having Dutch nationality and being duly registered in the Civil Registry.
The nine parties have a combined 126 candidates vying for the 15 seats in Parliament.
