MARIGOT--English translation While both sides of the island met in Philipsburg to celebrate St. Martin Day on Saturday, November 11, the Collectivité’s representative branch in Paris, Maison de Saint-Martin, also marked the event by organizing a small party at its premises on Rue de Varenne in the presence of a few guests.

Among the guests were Member of Parliament (MP) for St. Martin and St. Barthélemy, Claire Javois, who took the opportunity to thank all Collectivité’s partners and many volunteers who contributed during the first days after Hurricane Irma to organize donations for the victims and sending the funds to St. Martin.

The slogan "SXM Smile AGAIN" used by St. Martin Tourism Office was the theme for the party attended by invited volunteers and partners who enjoyed a nice traditional St. Martin buffet in a friendly atmosphere.

The Collectivité of St. Martin wishes to commend all the communities, departments, regions and Communes of France, the many schools, partners based throughout France and volunteers who spontaneously lent a hand and mobilized themselves unreservedly to assist St. Martin after the passage of Irma.

“This edition of St. Martin Day was celebrated in the context of recovery after Irma, but it has enabled many St. Martiners to meet here or elsewhere and to share an emotional moment of unity and friendship,” the Collectivité noted.
