Man (28) on remand for burglary, drug offences

ANGUILLA–The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) has arrested and charged Ronreaco Rogers of Cauls Bottom with four counts of burglary, and one each of possession and cultivation of cannabis. He was charged on Monday, July 10, and taken before the Magistrate on July 11, where he was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison. He is due back in Court on September 26. Rogers’ arrest comes as a result of police investigations into a spate of burglaries in and around The Quarter in the last two weeks.

Police are also investigating an armed robbery after a male victim went to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower body. Initial investigations revealed that the victim had visited the ATM at Scotiabank at about 8:15pm where he was robbed and suffered the gunshot wound. The police are appealing to any members of the public who may have been in the area, and may have witnessed this shooting and robbery to report to the Valley Police Station with such information. The police have one male in custody assisting with the investigation.
