Man arrested for drugs, marijuana confiscated

CAY HILL–A 42-year-old man suspected of drugs-trafficking was arrested on Friday November 6, around 7:40pm, and a considerable amount of marijuana was confiscated.

Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said on Monday that the multi-disciplinary team spotted two vehicles driving “quite suspiciously” on Chopin Road in Cay Hill. The team requested assistance from other patrols to conduct a thorough control. One vehicle fled the area while the other was abandoned. The abandoned vehicle was searched and a “considerable amount” of packaged marijuana was found in the vehicle. A search of the area led to the arrest of the suspect, who could not give “any reasonable answer” to the questions asked. The suspect was taken to the Philipsburg Police Station where he remains in custody. The vehicle and drugs were confiscated for further investigation, Henson said.
