Man shot in Belvedere

Police at the scene of the shooting in Belvedere early this morning.

BELVEDERE–Shots rang out in the neighbourhood of Belvedere early this morning and now one resident is said to be nursing two bullet wounds.

According to information gathered, the wounded man had just entered his Mercedes Benz car when several shots were fired by an unknown person. Bullets are said to have blasted through the car windshield with two lodging in his chest and a leg.

The man is being treated at St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) as Police continue to investigate the scene of the shooting for clues to the motive and leads on the shooter who is still at large.

Anyone with information about this latest shooting is encouraged to call or visit the nearest Police Station or substation.
