Man shot in the hand in Sandy Ground robbery

MARIGOT–The Gendarmerie said Tuesday an attempted armed robbery occurred at a house in Sandy Ground on Monday evening at 6:00 and resulted in a victim being treated in hospital for a bullet wound.

According to Capitaine Emmanuel Maignan, two masked individuals, one carrying a gun, entered a house in Sandy Ground and attempted to rob the occupant. The proprietor, however, refused to hand over any money and a tussle with the robber ensued. A shot was fired and the victim sustained a bullet wound to the right hand.

As of Tuesday no arrests had been made. The investigation is on-going.
