PHILIPSBURG–An unidentified man was severely manhandled by Police officers on Monday afternoon in the Over the Bank area. A video was obtained by The Daily Herald showing the arrest of the man suspected of looting.
Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said that police are still compiling the report about the incident, however he reminded the public that police is doing everything in its power to apprehend all those who are responsible for looting post Hurricane Irma.
There is a zero-tolerance policy in place and all residents are asked to cooperate with officers when being questioned. Henson said that once all information is compiled about this specific case, more information will be shared with the public.
The man was arrested by officers on Monday afternoon and will be further questioned by detectives. No word if the man sustained any serious injuries as a result of the excessive force during his arrest.
