Marlin expected back from Colombia today

POND ISLAND–The country has been in the hands of Deputy Prime Minister/Justice Minister Rafael Boasman (United St. Maarten Party) for the past week due to Prime Minister William Marlin seeking medical consultation in Colombia.

Marlin (National Alliance) departed for Colombia on Monday, February 6, and has been there ever since. He issued a press statement on Friday stating that he had met with St. Maarten patients in the South American country, but the statement stopped short of informing the St. Maarten people about his condition and the exact nature of his medical situation.

In the last Council of Ministers Press Briefing, Boasman briefly stated: “The Prime Minister is doing well” and that he was being encouraged “to rest a bit.”

Marlin is expected to return to the island later today.
