WILLEMSTAD–Kindergartens in Curaçao are open again starting May 4, reported government.
The next two to three weeks will be allocated to elementary schools preparing everything to resume classes. For example, many toilets have been broken for years but now these must first be repaired and maintained in connection with COVID-19 hygiene measures.
The final exam classes can start again on May 18. All points on the checklist are reviewed with the Ministry of Health, Environment & Nature to ensure this is done according to safety guidelines.
Restaurants are now allowed to open an hour longer, until 8:00pm for curb-side takeout. This means pick-up is only possible if delivered to the car window.
Snack trucks remain open between 5:00pm and 8:00pm for curb-side pick-up. Customers must order ahead by phone or Internet and stay in the vehicle.
Hardware stores may fully open again. However, the same conditions apply as with supermarkets: social distance and hygiene.
An exemption from the “plates-of-the-day” rule must be requested for all personnel.
