PHILIPSBURG–The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Affairs is seeking a candidate to represent the ministry on the board for Advanced Vocational Education (AVE), which oversees the National Institute for Professional Advancement (NIPA).
The ministry’s former representative Antonio Aventurin, who was also the Chairperson of the board, resigned on August 1, following a string of negative press about NIPA.
An ad advertising the opening, which appeared in the Government Information page of Tuesday, August 22, stated that the core tasks of the successful candidate will be to be the board representative for the ministry; to advise and support the management board, to represent and champion the foundation’s interest and to approve annual financial statements, year report and annual budget.
The successful candidate will be appointed to sit on the board until 2019. Applicants should be a Dutch citizen, be age 25 or older and be in possession of a valid driver’s licence; have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent; have a minimum work experience of seven to ten years in education, supervision, or managerial role; have previous board and or leadership of foundation experience; possess adequate research, interpersonal communication, analytical and management skills; must be moderately computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel; must have professional and relevant expertise/knowledge in education, management, education law and must be fluent in English and have a working knowledge of Dutch.
