Dee-Ann Rogers, Miss Universe Great Britain.
ANGUILLA–Dee-Ann Rogers, who is now Miss Universe Great Britain (GB), arrived back in Anguilla on Saturday afternoon to a warm welcome from officials and members of the public at the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport. A special reception was held in the VIP lounge where she was greeted by Governor Tim Foy, Deputy Governor Perin Bradley, Minister of Social Development Evans McNiel Rogers, Chair of the Anguilla Tourist Board, Donna Banks and other officials. They congratulated her on her performance in the competition, on helping to promote Anguilla, and for being a role model for young Anguillians.
Outside the airport she was greeted by members of the public, many athletes and contestants for the upcoming Summer Festival. A motorcade around the island followed.
Roger is the first Anguillian to be Miss Universe GB and the first black woman to hold that position. The Miss Universe Pageant is due to be held in November in the Philippines.
