MARIGOT–Movement for Justice and Prosperity (MJP) has launched a programme called “Making a Difference” which is broadcasted on Radio St. Martin 101.5FM every Wednesday from 8:00 to 9:00pm with a repeat on Sundays from 1:00 to 2:00pm.
“MJP has identified an urgent need to inform, educate and inspire our people so that they can make informed decisions about the future development of the country,” said MJP President Louis Mussington.
“We have established some fundamental ideals or pillars on which we established our movement. One is to make St. Martin a more just and prosperous society. We believe in promoting quality education for all so all children can aspire to become professionals. We are strongly committed to development of higher education in St. Martin and continue to strive for the creation of a university here.
“We strongly uphold the view that our political structure can contribute significantly to the economic, social and cultural development of our country if we exercise our competence with boldness and political courage.
“We hold in high regard the need to encourage and promote the entrepreneurial spirit in St. Martin. With this in mind, our young people must become businessowners.
“We believe in protecting and preserving our environment, and protection and defence of our cultural patrimony. We will leave no stone unturned in the restoration of pride and unconditional love for our country.
“The final pillar is to give full importance to the intervention of the people and to promote networking opportunities.”
At the end of the programme 15 minutes is set aside for people to call in and share their concerns. Topics will be of a political, economic, social, and cultural nature. Youth affairs and sports, and North-South cooperation will also be discussed.
“We encourage the community to listen in to the programme, as it’s designed to bring awareness and bring people up to speed on the main topics of the day, and to share our view of how we see situations unfolding,” Mussington concluded.
