Mooring, swimming restrictions at Happy Bay for SXM Festival | THE DAILY HERALD

MARIGOT–In connection with the organisation of the third edition of SXM Festival produced by Tuned Productions represented by Krystel Arbia, the Collectivité has made it known that mooring of boats in Happy Bay is prohibited from 7:00am Wednesday, March 13, to 8:00am Monday, March 18.

Swimming zones have also been implemented from 7:00am March 13 until 8:00am March 18. Happy Bay is partly reserved for public swimming and partly for festival-goers according to the following demarcation zones:

The area of shoreline 100 metres to the left of Happy Bay will be reserved exclusively for swimming for the non-festival public.

The area of shoreline 200 metres to the right of Happy Bay will be exclusively reserved for festival-goers. This area will be marked with buoys visible day and night. Buoys must be installed in accordance with regulations. Lifeguards must remain at their posts for the duration of the festival period. Swimming is not supervised; therefore, vigilance must be exercised by swimmers in the public areas.

All nautical activities within a 300-metre zone are prohibited from at 7:00am Wednesday, March 13, to 8:00am Monday, March 18.

The Collectivité insists these measures are respected to guarantee safety and optimal functioning of the festival.
