PHILIPSBURG–Residents and businesses in several districts were left without electricity, in some cases, for several hours on Saturday as utilities company GEBE experienced more issues with its largest generator.
A GEBE representative said several areas were out for periods of 90 minutes each. The Belvedere and Union Farm Estate areas, however, were out for several hours when the current went around 3:30pm and was restored close to 7:00pm. Electricity was also out in these districts earlier in the day much to the frustration of residents. Several areas also experienced outages on Sunday. Residents in several districts took to social media to express frustration over the frequent outages. It could not be ascertained whether the generator issues are now resolved.
