Mossel approved as new ombudsman | THE DAILY HERALD

 

PHILIPSBURG–Current substitute Ombudsman Gwendolien Mossel has been approved by Parliament to become the country’s second ombudsman as of January 1, 2019. Her appointment was unanimously accepted by secret ballot in a plenary sitting of the legislature on Wednesday.

  Mossel is appointed for the constitutionally mandated seven-year term.

  Parliament also approved the honourable discharge of current Ombudsman Nilda Arduin as of December 31.
