PHILIPSBURG–The current Members of Parliament (MPs) will examination the credentials of the incoming MPs in a plenary session of Parliament in Parliament House starting at 11:00am today, Friday. This examination is the part of the preparation for the Easter Monday Parliament, the country’s fourth in less than eight years.
The new and re-elected MPs are to take the oath of office before Governor Eugene Holiday on Monday, April 2.
New and re-elected MPs are Theo Heyliger, Sarah Wescot-Williams, Franklin Meyers, Sidharth “Cookie” Bijlani, Chanel Brownbill, Emil Lee and Dr. Luc Mercelina of United Democrats; Silveria Jacobs, Christophe Emmanuel, William Marlin, Ardwell Irion and Jurendy Doran (National Alliance); Frans Richardson and Rolando Brison (United St. Maarten Party); and Wycliffe Smith (St. Maarten Christian Party).
Also on the agenda for today are incoming documents and approval of the decision lists from several public meetings.
The public is welcome to the session in Parliament House on Wilhelminastraat. The session will also be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 120, Pearl Radio FM 98.1, SXMGOV Radio 107.9 FM,
