PHILIPSBURG–National Institute of Arts (NIA) is presenting two free concerts featuring NIA’s National Youth Orchestra, as part of its “Music Brings People Together” music programme, partially sponsored by the Dutch Disaster Fund and Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School Concert Band in Anguilla.

The performing musicians are all dedicated youngsters with a passion for classical music and jazz. “NIA’s Youth Orchestra is proud of their accomplishments at the tender age of nine months and is happy to be rolling with the pros in existence for 19 years from our neighbouring island Anguilla,” said NIA Director Arlene Halley Newhouse.

“Anguilla’s Concert Band is a great role model for our budding musicians, and we are excited for this collaboration,” Halley stated.

The first free concert at Festival Village today, Friday, December 6, from10:30am to 1:00pm is a special performance for all the schools on the island. The second concert will be at Cyrus Wathey Square on Saturday, December 7, from 4:00pm-6:30pm.
