No GEBE meters being read this month, consumers to get two-month bill in May | THE DAILY HERALD

PHILIPSBURG–In an effort to protect its team members in wake of the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, utilities company GEBE will not be reading consumers’ meters this month (April). Water and electricity meters will be read in May and consumers will receive a two-month bill in May, GEBE said in a press statement on Thursday.

The bill will consist of the total reading for April and May. “We are still accepting payments via cheque which can be dropped off at our cheque box and also via online banking,” the company said.

The company is still offering relief to its consumers during this time and will grant a fixed fuel clause of NAf. 0.18 per kilowatt-hour on light and water bills for six months starting April 1.

GEBE’s main office in Philipsburg is closed to the public until further notice. The company says that although its doors are closed for walk-ins, it “remains committed” to consumers. “We encourage you to stay up-to-date with your account during this time to avoid a backlog of bills.”

Consumers were encouraged to use the Internet for assistance in paying their bills during the closure. Payment can be made online by logging on to GEBE’s website

www.nvgebe.com and registering for MyAccount, where they will have access to their bills at any time and can pay their bills online.

GEBE’s customer care team is available during the closure and can be reached at
