No quorum for meeting of central committee


PHILIPSBURG–No quorum stalled Tuesday’s meeting of the Central Committee of Parliament to deal with the appointment of an acting ombudsman. Only seven Members of Parliament (MPs) were signed in for the session.

Ombudsman Nilda Lynch-Arduin was present for the session.

Members of Parliament George Pantophlet (National Alliance), Theo Heyliger, Franklin Meyers, Tamara Leonard and Johan “Janchi” Leonard of the United People’s (UP) party, Leona Marlin-Romeo and Cornelius de Weever (both independent) were signed in for the meeting.

The session will be recalled for another date.
