ST. EUSTATIUS–Noris “Edna” Williams has been crowned Miss Mature Queen 2019 during Statia Carnival 2019.
The theme of the pageant was “Shine Bright Like A Diamond.”

Besides the winner, Lucienne Papa and Kiara Sanchez Hernandez also participated in the pageant. Williams won the competition with a grand total of 930 points, first runner-up Papa had 846 points and Sanchez Hernandez 737 points. The contestants received trophies, sashes, gift baskets, a television and various other prizes.

Williams also won the title for Miss Internet Friendly. This segment was decided by fans who voted online. Williams gathered 615 votes. She also won Best Talent, Best Speech, Best Interview and Miss Popularity, which was chosen by the audience.

Papa captured the title for Best Cultural Wear and Sanchez Hernandez won the title for Best Evening Wear and was voted Miss Photogenic.

Williams set herself far ahead of the others in the talent section. While singing on stage, she was camouflaged in a billboard. No one knew that she was on stage and when she finally moved and revealed herself the audience broke out in loud screams and applause.

Judges for the competition were Director of Tourism Charles Lindo, Lena Courtar, Shermen Gibbs-Pompier and Robinson Hercule.

Miss Mature Queen 2018 Jineidy Bolan made her final walk at the event, which was attended by Senior Carnival Queen 2019 Kentonea Fortin and Little Miss Statia/Junior Carnival Queen 2019 Melifanny de Palm.
