The company said the escalating situation in the Middle East has contributed to higher fuel prices and uncertainty in global energy markets, making responsible energy and water use increasingly important.

Although these developments are beyond the utility company’s control, NV GEBE said customers can help by using electricity and water wisely.

The utility said it continues to monitor international developments while remaining focused on providing safe and reliable electricity and water services. It also said it is working to improve its operations and use resources efficiently to continue serving customers and the community.

NV GEBE is encouraging customers to switch off lights, televisions and other electrical appliances when they are not in use, set air-conditioning units to an energy-efficient temperature while keeping doors and windows closed, replace traditional light bulbs with LED lighting where possible, unplug electronic devices and chargers when not in use, repair leaking faucets, toilets and pipes promptly, and limit unnecessary water use.

Temporary Manager Iris Arrindell said, “Conservation is a shared responsibility and by making small adjustments in our daily routines, we can collectively reduce unnecessary consumption while helping to manage costs and preserve valuable resources for our community.”

The release also marks the launch of NV GEBE’s “Together We Conserve” awareness campaign, through which customers will receive weekly conservation tips, educational videos and practical advice on the company’s official social media platforms.
