COLE BAY–Shoppers in St. Maarten now have a new option to purchase their furniture, thanks to the opening of the Omni Furniture Gallery on Saturday. Omni has expanded its line of products and opened the new gallery at its Orange Grove Shopping Center Unit 9 location.
The gallery is equipped with a wide range of furniture – a sleep centre with a type of mattress for each person, bedroom sets, dining tables, living room sets, recliners, office chairs, bar chairs, servers and all sorts of beautiful accessories such as lamps, vases and wall art to decorate a house into a home.
The furniture line-up has been a part of the Unicomer Group (the company that owns the Omni, Omni Furniture Gallery and Radio Shack brands) line-up for a very long time, Omni General Manager Champa Dhanani told The Daily Herald.
“We recently opened an Omni Furniture Gallery in Curaçao in the summer of 2017 and have been wanting to expand the business in St. Maarten to include brown goods and furniture and it was finally a possibility when the units at the shopping centre became available,” she said.
“We have been to many retailers on the island and have done an inventorization of what the needs are of the market and can say with confidence that our new extension, including the furniture gallery and sleep centre, is creating a unique retail experience to the St. Maarten market where customers will be able to find anything they would need to furnish their complete home under one roof.
“Our aim and mission is to offer the best quality-price ratio on the island whilst giving the customers the possibility to qualify for a hire purchase facility which enables them to take their product home without having to pay anything down while paying it off in monthly instalments.”
Dhanani said that after doing a thorough analysis of the St. Maarten market, the company can say with confidence that it will be offering a unique high-quality line-up at affordable prices.
“We have been looking for an opportunity to grow in St. Maarten for a very long time, but were never able to find a location that we were completely sure of and finally, in mid-2018, we were offered the opportunity to expand within the Orange Grove Shopping Centre, which is where we have been present since 1995.
“We have a very wide range of brands that we will be offering, but all represented by suppliers that Unicomer has had a very long-standing relationship with. Our mattresses are Serta, a very well-known American brand coming straight from one of their manufacturers in Trinidad where they also manufacture other high-quality mattresses such as Sealy, Sleep On It and Restonic,” she said.
