On the scene | THE DAILY HERALD

The Police Mobile Communication Unit (MCU) brought in from the Netherlands after the passing of Hurricane Irma is serving as the Emergency Dispatch Centre. The unit has been transported to the Princess Port de Plaisance premises where the Heineken Regatta Village has been erected for the 39th anniversary of this event. All operations regarding the regatta such as communication, the filing of minor reports and more will take place from this dispatch centre. The MCU is manned by all emergency services to provide the necessary service to everyone at that location and will not disrupt the regular public emergency services. It is the intention to transport the MCU to the locations where major events are held and use it there.
