MARIGOT–The Collectivité has announced various parking restrictions and changes that will be in place for the Bastille Day celebration this coming Saturday, July 14.
The portion of Rue de la Mairie, including the building “Les Bougainvilliers” up to the garden of the Hôtel de la Collectivité, Rue du Palais de Justice, will be closed to traffic and parking from 3:00pm Friday, July 13, to 4:00pm Saturday, July 14.
The portion of Rue du Général de Gaulle between the intersection of Rue de l’Anguille and the garden of the Hôtel de la Collectivité, Rue du Palais de Justice, will be closed to traffic and parking from 6:00am to 4:00pm Saturday, July 14.
The parking of any vehicle will be prohibited in the portion of Rue Victor Maurasse between the Bank “BRED” up to the intersection of Rue Félix Eboue from 6:00am to noon Saturday, July 14. The Territorial Police are responsible for setting up a traffic diversion.
Within the framework of the Bastille Day commemorative festivities on July 14, various provisions relating to the streets adjacent to Place du Front-de-Mer de Marigot will be decided as follows:
The portion of Boulevard de France between the restaurant “La Vie en Rose” and the restaurant “L’Ahrawak” will be closed to traffic and parking from 5:00pm Friday, July 13, to 12:30am Sunday, July 15. Parking and vehicle traffic will not be permitted on the small street between the old taxi stand and local restaurants. The Territorial Police is responsible for setting up a traffic diversion.
No other street closures are permitted during this event. Any vehicle parked in the no-go zones will be removed and impounded at the owner’s expense.
As part of the celebration of Bastille Day on July 14, it is strictly prohibited to sell drinks in glass bottles throughout Place du Front-de-Mer de Marigot, from 6:00am Saturday, July 14, to Sunday, July 15, at midnight. These provisions apply to all restaurants on the waterfront as well as to fixed or mobile businesses engaged in the sale of drinks.
Within the framework of the celebration of Bastille Day on July 14, there will be temporary closing of the car parks reserved for the tourist taxis and buses of Place du Front-de-Mer of Marigot from 5:00pm Thursday, July 12, to noon Sunday, July 15.
