The Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard support station at Hato airport in Curaçao has a new commander. Bas van Heeringen succeeded Olav Burger after three years, during which he was involved in essential early relief aid to St. Maarten following the passage of Hurricane Irma.

The outfit’s fleet consists of two Dash-8 patrol planes and two AW-139 helicopters.
