PFP to launch manifesto on Nomination Day | THE DAILY HERALD

PFP Leader Melissa Gumbs.

PHILIPSBURG–Party for Progress (PFP) will launch its manifesto on Nomination Day scheduled for Thursday, November 21.

The party’s website www.pfp.sx will also go live on that date. “We are encouraging everyone to look out for that and announcements on the party’s Facebook page,” the party said in a press release on Wednesday.

The manifesto will set out the key focal points of the party under the theme “Improving the Quality of Life for All on Sint Maarten,” using the party’s guiding principles of vision, strategy, action to implement and drive the party’s agenda to address the concerns voiced by communities across Sint Maarten, it was stated in the release.

PFP’s Path to Postulation” series will continue today, November 14, at the Dutch Quarter Community Centre from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, followed by Captain D’s Rib Shack in Simpson Bay on November 20. It will culminate on November 21, when the party will present its list of candidates for Nomination Day, and is calling on persons in the community to go out on November 22, to endorse the new party to contest the upcoming election.

PFP said the series is a fundamental part of fulfilling its mission and manifesto to engage, educate and systemically address and alleviate the grievances of residents. The month-long information sessions in districts around Sint Maarten began in Sucker Garden on November 1. The idea of the information sessions is to hear the community’s concerns, introduce the party’s ideas, and to build membership, the release said.

PFP said it was recently given the green light from the Electoral Council to participate in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections.
