The upgrading of Dutch Quarter is ongoing with the placement of sewerage lines, paved roads, streetlights and sidewalks. There have been some challenges with private land ownership, but the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Infrastructure VROMI is working to resolve these matters, Minister Miklos Giterson told the press on Wednesday.
The project completion is slated for close to year-end, as general contractor Van Boekel is “pushing very hard” to ensure inconvenience to residents is minimised as much as possible as the project progresses. Giterson said of the project: “In the end, it will all be worthwhile in the interest of a better community for the residents and visitors of Dutch Quarter.” (John Halley photo)
