PHILIPSBURG–A suspect A.F.A. well-known to police was arrested at approximately 9:30pm Tuesday in connection with an ongoing investigation of attempted assault with a deadly weapon, attempted manslaughter and possession of illegal drugs.
Police reported on Thursday that a warrant for the man’s arrest had been issued by the Prosecutor. The incident involving the suspect took place on Soualiga Boulevard in the vicinity of Festival Village on January 23.
While conducting a body search, police confiscated a large kitchen knife and 16 small plastic bags, each containing marijuana believed to be for distribution. The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
