Police investigate USVI 16-year-old’s drowning

 ANGUILLA–The Royal Anguilla Police Force is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 16-year-old boy, who lived in the USVI and was in Anguilla on vacation, residing in West End, Anguilla. The police received the report of an alleged drowning incident on Monday, July 10, at about 5:30pm.

Initial investigations by officers of the RAPF revealed that the victim, Daiman Wallace, was on a fishing trip when he was discovered missing from a boat, from the spot where he was sitting. A search for him was immediately launched by his father, who later found his lifeless body and attempted CPR.

The body of the boy was brought back to land, where EMTs attempted CPR before he was pronounced dead by a Medical Doctor who was on the scene. A post mortem has been ordered by the Coroner.

Acting Commissioner Elliott Forbes and members of the Force are extending sympathy to the grieved family and friends of the deceased.
