Police make arrests for prostitution offences | THE DAILY HERALD

ANGUILLA–The Royal Anguilla Police Force on Thursday, June 21, arrested and charged 33-year-old Luis Jose Espinal Fleming of Statia Valley with living off the earnings of prostitution. The alleged offender appeared before the Magistrate on June 22 and was granted bail in the sum of EC $60,000 with one surety. His conditions of bail were that he surrender all travel documents, not leave the island by any means without the court’s permission, and be of good behaviour. He is due back in court on Tuesday, September 25, when he is expected to answer to the charge.

The police also arrested 48-year-old Celia Beatroz Pinalico on two counts of keeping a brothel, two counts of trafficking in people, and one count of living off the earnings of prostitution. She was granted bail by the Magistrate of EC $60,000 with one surety and had to surrender her travel documents. She is also due in court on September 25.

Also involved in prostitution was Carmen Hansen Contreras Brooks (64) of Blowing Point. She was arrested and charged with two counts of keeping a brothel, two counts of trafficking in people and one count of living off the earnings of prostitution. She was charged a fine of EC $80,000 with one surety and also must not leave the island. She is due back in court on September 24.

The police have issued no further information regarding the shooting that occurred on Sunday except to say that they are continuing the investigation.
