Police warn public about pickpockets

PHILIPSBURG–As the 2018 Carnival season ended on Wednesday, Police noted that several persons had filed complaints of theft with the Detective Department during the last few days of the season.

“These persons stated that they were pick-pocketed by an unknown person(s) while walking through large crowds and mainly during the Jouvert Jump-Up and during events in the [Carnival – Ed.] Village. Police warn the public to carry their valuables such as wallets and cell phones in a safe place to prevent them from been stolen,” the police said.
