POINTE BLANCHE–Port St. Maarten will cease cargo operations as of 6:00pm today, Monday.
Port personnel have activated hurricane preparation plans to protect the facility, cargo and buildings due to the approach of Hurricane Maria.
After the hurricane’s passage south of the country, port officials will assess the state of the ocean. Once ocean conditions subside, regular operations at the cargo quays will resume for the import of relief supplies.
