PORT SINT MAARTEN – Port St. Maarten is a proud partner and one of the premier sponsors of the 38th edition of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta.

The port is sponsoring the Live Music event on Friday, March 2 at the Regatta Village, under the banner, “Re-discover St. Maarten” @ Port de Plaisance.  The party kicks off from 3.00pm and runs until 1.00am.

The port sponsored live music event includes music by DJ EM, Remo & the Barbwire, Percy Ranking, What the Funk, Orange Grove, Patrick Graham and Ziggy.

March 2 also presents the first day of racing, “Around the Island Race.”  The Port St. Maarten family would like to wish everybody a safe and serious fun 38th edition of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta.

Port St. Maarten Management would also like to welcome the sailors, and visitors to the island who came specifically for the Caribbean’s favorite sailing event, and at the same time commends the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta organizing committee for a job well done in getting everything ready for another annual sailing event despite the impact from hurricane Irma in September 2017.

“We’re very proud to have Port St. Maarten as one of our major sponsors. Port St. Maarten is a key player in the tourism sector of the island. They’ve been marketing the island since the storm in a positive way with their campaign ‘Re-discover St. Maarten’.

“While brainstorming about a good theme for the Friday night, this one was obvious and completely fits in the fundraising concept of the Regatta. St. Maarten is open, we’re ready and together with Port St. Maarten we’ll welcome all the sailors back to our beautiful island,” stated Michelle van der Werff, Regatta Director.

For 2018, the Regatta is 38 years strong and it just keeps getting better, organizers said. Four days of world-class racing has brought together a 100+ fleet strong with some of the world’s most seasoned sailors, from more than 25 countries and eight Caribbean islands all ready to have serious fun.
