COLE BAY–Prime Distributors has purchased liquor and spirits importer and distributor Antillean Liquors.
Prime official Danny Ramchandani told The Daily Herald on Thursday that Prime bought the company about two weeks ago.
Ramchandani said Prime Distributors has also taken over approximately 30 employees and management personnel. Prime will also maintain the name Antillean Liquors.
He declined to divulge the purchase price. Ramchandani said purchasing the company was a natural move as Antillean Liquors is located in Prime Distributors’ building in Cole Bay.
Also, Prime Distributors is already in the business of liquors and spirits and handles the distribution to supermarkets. Prime, however, does not distribute to restaurants and bars.
By taking over Antillean Liquors, he said, Prime will now assume the company’s restaurant and bars portfolio.
Antillean Liquors is an importer and distributor of Spirits and Liquors including Veuve Clicquot Champagne, San Pellegrino, Perrier, Acqua Panna amongst others and delivers island wide. Antillean Liquors has been in operation for just over 20 years, since 1996.
