Prime Minister issues call for ministers to report via radio

PHILIPSBURG– Prime Minister William Marlin summoned his cabinet to a meeting with Governor Eugene Holiday today at 5:00pm via a live radio broadcast.

The meeting, he said, would last one hour, but he didn’t announce the intended agenda for said meeting in his brief address earlier this afternoon.
Marlin has been communicating with community sporadically through Philipsburg Broadcasting’s Laser 101FM station, issuing notices and seeking audiences with specific people.
It has been four days since Hurricane Irma devastated the island. The local government remains without a viable means of communication to its departments, officers and the community – aside from the radio station.
