PSVE honours high achievers

SOUTH REWARD–The hard work of eighteen St. Maarten Academy PSVE students for Terms 1 and 2, 2017-2018, was recognised at an award ceremony held at the school on Monday morning. In the presence of their parents/guardians, honourees received certificates for passing all their subjects, with ten subjects having an average of 75 per cent or higher.

Students honoured at the Form 1 level were Merita Petion (Term 1) and Curtis Mathurin (Terms 1 and 2).

At the Form 2 level Chantalia van Heynegen (Term 2), Shadea Lyons (Term 2), ELeoniza Todd (Term 2), Calvin Lumaine (Term 1), Alex Godoy   (Term 1), Kemar Brooks (Term 1), Bhethany Barrett (Terms 1 and 2), Tasheena Watson (Terms 1 and 2), Luanna Brown (Terms 1and 2), Alaisa Abbott (Terms 1 and 2), Elianny Cruz, (Term 2) and Andrea Marcelin (Term 2) were honoured.

At the Form 3 level, honourees were Amos Pierre (Term 2), Michnaider Renard (Term 2), Martawidio Saint-Louis (Term 2), Isael Vasquez (Term 2) and Gamy Charles.

Students who performed the best for their respective levels were recipients of the Principal’s Award.

Nine of the 18 High Achievers originate from Class 2E, an accelerated class in the school’s Caribbean Examinations Council CXC pilot of the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) programme. In August 2018, all students entering St. Maarten Academy PSVE will be following the complete CCSLC programme offered by CXC.

The school congratulated the honourees and their parents/guardians on this special achievement and looks forward to more students earning the rank of High Achiever next school year.
