PHILIPSBURG–“One Stop Word Shop” is one of several organisations that have samples of its products on display at an exhibition that coincides with the Caribbean Well-Being Conference, which continues at University of St. Martin (USM) today, Tuesday. The exhibition is open to the public. The two-day conference was officially opened during a ceremony at BelAir Community Center on Sunday evening, and the conference and exhibition got off the ground at USM on Monday. Other exhibitors include St. Maarten Youth Council Association, Soualiga Corporate Toastmasters Club, USM, Agape Enterprises NV, Business and Professional Women (BPW) Concordia St. Martin and MHS Assessments. The exhibition continues and wraps up today, Tuesday, at USM.
One Stop Word Shop and MHS Assessments’ representatives travelled from abroad for the exhibition. One Stop Word Shop is based in North Carolina, USA. One Stop Word Shop provides solutions for vocabulary instructions and acquisition. One Stop Word Shop said research shows that the organisation’s vocabulary lesson books increases students’ academic vocabulary through its “unique synonym based system.”
The books are designed for grade 3 and up. It includes a yearlong word study of lessons, engaging text, multiple approaches, assessments and extension activities. The 15 to 20 minute lessons address oral language, written expressions and reading comprehension. The lessons fit into any schedule.
